Two held in drug busts

PO­LICE in Mitchells Plain have ar­rested a 50-year-old Nige­rian for pos­ses­sion of tik (crys­tal metham­phetamine) with a street value of R12 500, heroin and cash, West­ern Cape po­lice said yes­ter­day. They re­sponded to a ra­dio call for as­sis­tance in Port­land, Mitchells Plain, at about 2pm on Satur­day, said spokesper­son Cap­tain FC van Wyk. The of­fi­cers re­ceived in­for­ma­tion that the sus­pect was about to drop off the tik in Rock­lands. He was searched at the po­lice sta­tion, where 50g of heroin and R6 500 were found on him. In an­other case, on Fri­day, of­fi­cers re­ceived in­for­ma­tion that drugs were be­ing stored at a house in Eastridge, Mitchells Plain. They searched the premises and dis­cov­ered dagga, 25 straws of heroin and 20 pack­ets of tik. A 45-year-old woman was ar­rested.
