Bodies of 13 migrants found; 750 rescued
ROME: About 750 migrants have been rescued in the Mediterranean and 13 bodies have been recovered, the Italian Coast Guard has reported.
The report on Saturday of a sinking about 50km from the Libyan coast, after which eight bodies have been recovered, risks, however, being much heavier since the boat carried more than 100 migrants.
The Italian government said 181 000 migrants, mostly from Libya, arrived in Italy last year.
Nearly 5 000 died during the crossing, according to the International Organisation for Migration (IOM).
