WHITE maize for delivery in March traded 2.3 percent lower at R3 283 a ton on the SA Futures Exchange yesterday after earlier dropping by the limit for a third consecutive session.
“South Africa’s maize crop is in a fairly good condition,” Wandile Sihlobo, head of economic and agribusiness intelligence at Agricultural Business Chamber, said in a report.
“Weather forecasts suggest that high rainfall patterns will return to the maize areas next week after a brief pause over the past few days,” Sihlobo said.
