GUGU Keswa, who has a threeyear-old daughter with Mbuso Mandela, yesterday said all she wants is for him to support his child.

“This is not a personal attack or a fight… it’s just a mother taking a stand for her child to be supported,” said Keswa outside the Johannesburg Family Court, where the child-support matter was heard and postponed.

Mbuso Mandela, the 26-yearold grandson of Nelson Mandela, was arrested last Thursday for failing to support his daughter.

Reports suggested that Mbuso Mandela inherited R4 million from his grandfather’s estate.

He made a brief appearance in court. He didn’t speak to anyone as he left the building. He had earlier been released on bail in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court.

After the matter was postponed, Keswa was at pains to explain to reporters that the Mandela family had been very supportive, but she wanted her daughter’s father to take some responsibility.

The contempt of court case was postponed and the maintenance matter was adjourned to February 21.

“At the end of the day I just need the child to be supported,” said Keswa.

“The case has been on and off for about two years now… I am not fighting… I just need the child to be supported.”

Keswa, who is the complainant in the maintenance matter, said she was simply her daughter’s voice.

RENEGED: Mbuso Mandela is up for failing to pay maintenance.
