R500 000 man­drax tablets seized

THREE sus­pected drug deal­ers were bust in Mitchells Plain, West­ern Cape, with a large quan­tity of man­drax tablets with an es­ti­mated street value of al­most R500 000, po­lice said on Wed­nes­day. Lieu­tenant Colonel An­dre Traut said the sus­pects were ar­rested in Len­tegeur on Tues­day night. “Last night mem­bers of the Mitchells Plain Tac­ti­cal Re­sponse Team re­acted to a tip-off from the com­mu­nity and con­ducted a search op­er­a­tion at a res­i­dence in Kre­upel­hout Street, Len­tegeur, where they dis­cov­ered a large quan­tity of man­drax with an es­ti­mated street value of R475 000,” said Traut. “Three male sus­pects aged 36, 42 and 43 were ar­rested on a charge of deal­ing in drugs and once they have been charged, they are due to make a court ap­pear­ance in Mitchells Plain. “We are pleased with the out­come of our op­er­a­tion and ex­tremely grate­ful for the as­sis­tance we re­ceive from the lo­cal com­mu­ni­ties to erad­i­cate the scourge of crime in the prov­ince.”
