Record tourism for Western Cape

YES­TER­DAY data showed that the Western Cape en­joyed record tourist fig­ures this past hol­i­day sea­son, with nine out of ten star at­trac­tions show­ing growth. With the 18th Cape Town In­ter­na­tional Jazz Fes­ti­val be­ing held from March 31 to April 1 the prov­ince con­tin­ues to draw the tourists. Ex­ec­u­tive Mayor of Cape Town, Pa­tri­cia de Lille, said: “Ev­ery year the (jazz fes­ti­val) gives us the op­por­tu­nity to con­sol­i­date our po­si­tion as the events cap­i­tal of Africa, and brings a na­tional and in­ter­na­tional au­di­ence to our world-class acts.” See Page 18
