Our president’s actions are hurting the youth

- Galaletsang Ramolobeng

THIS letter is written from the perspective of a student who is vexed by the state of our country.

South Africa has been downgraded to junk status. This is due to our president’s irrational decision to fire the trusted and hard-working finance minister, Pravin Gordhan.

This alteration will affect the price of goods and people will have to pay more for items they need.

Furthermore, businesses will have to cut down their expenses to make a profit. This includes cutting people’s wages and hiring fewer people. Unemployment will therefore increase and if you do have a job, you will be earning a lower salary. This predicament will affect teenagers like myself, who wish to find employment once we leave school.

Disadvantaged people will suffer the most from the carelessness of the president they trusted. Grade 10 pupil at St Martin’s School, Rosettenville
