The Star Early Edition - - WORLD -

NIKKI Haley, the US Permanent Representative to the UN, has accused the UN Human Rights Council of failing and of being biased.

Delivering a landmark speech titled, “A Place for Conscience: The Future of the United States in the Human Rights Council”, at the Graduate Institute in Geneva, Haley reaffirmed the US belief that no one should be denied basic human rights.

But she said the council was failing in its mission.

She noted that no special sessions had been called to highlight human rights violations perpetrated by the governments of Venezuela, Cuba, Russia or Zimbabwe. ANA
