Threat to Sudan talks
KHARTOUM: The Sudanese government said internal differences within the rebel Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM)/northern sector was crippling peace talks on South Kordofan and the Blue Nile areas.
“This… increases the suffering of the people of the two areas and cripples the negotiation process,” said Ahmed Bilal Osman, a Sudanese government spokesperson. He reiterated the government’s readiness to resume the peace talks at any time specified by the African mediation.
He urged the SPLM/northern sector to resolve its internal differences. Xinhua –
