Government is blinded to realities

The Star Early Edition - - LETTERS - JM Bouvier

IT’S beyond pathetic to see the clueless top echelon of the ANC try and run a sophisticated economy with a cavalier attitude that only befits a suicide bomber – and they advertised it worldwide by the idiotic comments made when S&P and Fitch downgraded us.

Do these clowns realise that is their fault that we have been downgraded once more, even by Moody’s, which was more optimistic and sympathetic than the other two agencies, and we are now in a recession?

Their stupidity is out in the open for all to see; this government’s erratic moves and head-in-the-sand attitude – ignoring the downgrades, the weak rand, the recession and the corruption allegations with the latest exposé of thousands of e-mails splashed daily on the front of every newspaper.

Political instability does more damage to growth and fiscal strength and makes everyone wonder if they (the government) are on a suicide mission or are they so blind and incompetent that it makes us wonder how they ended up as government running this country in the first place?

And the messages from all three agencies was loud and clear – they warned us that we are entering a downward spiral of recession by missing our fiscal targets, which will result in more downgrades, with the end result being the complete collapse of our economy. Bryanston
