Oba­macare fears

SAN FRANCISCO: A new statewide poll by re­searchers with the Univer­sity of Cal­i­for­nia, Berke­ley, shows 56% of Cal­i­for­ni­ans are worried they or a fam­ily mem­ber may lose their health in­sur­ance cov­er­age if the US Congress re­peals the Af­ford­able Care Act (ACA).

Find­ings from the poll were re­leased as Congress was con­sid­er­ing leg­is­la­tion to re­peal and re­place the ACA, pop­u­larly known as Obama Care, af­ter for­mer US pres­i­dent Barack Obama.

Among res­i­dents at the low­est end of the in­come scale, namely less than $20 000 (R260 000) year, 77% are worried. Xin­hua
