Ter­ror train­ing camps

YAN­GON: Myan­mar se­cu­rity forces have un­cov­ered ev­i­dence that some train­ing camps were se­cretly be­ing run by ter­ror­ists in Mayu Moun­tain in Buthi­daung-Maungtaw area in west­ern Rakhine state, the State Coun­sel­lor Of­fice said yes­ter­day.

Three armed at­tack­ers were killed dur­ing an oper­a­tion to clear the area con­ducted by the se­cu­rity forces over the past two days, the of­fice said.

Plot­ting to con­trol and in­flu­ence Maungtaw area, the ter­ror­ists had killed 34 peo­ple in­clud­ing vil­lage el­ders and a li­brar­ian, while ab­duct­ing 22 oth­ers, ac­cord­ing to the of­fice. Xin­hua
