Con­tract boost for growth strategy

BUILDMAX, the listed-open­cast min­ing con­trac­tor and build­ing ma­te­ri­als sup­plier, has been awarded a con­tract worth more than R500 mil­lion to pro­vide open­cast min­ing ser­vices to An­glo Amer­i­can Inyosi Coal. The com­pany said yes­ter­day that the con­tract had been awarded to its wholly owned sub­sidiary Diesel Power Open­cast Min­ing, and the con­tract re­lated to the Ogies­fontein Re­serve at the Zibulo Col­liery. It said the con­tract would com­mence on Satur­day and was for a du­ra­tion of 36 months. Buildmax added that the con­tract value in­cluded plant and fund­ing costs.The com­pany said it was de­lighted with the award of this con­tract be­cause it aligned with Buildmax’s growth strategy and en­sured con­tin­ued em­ploy­ment for the lo­cal Ogies com­mu­nity. – Roy Cokayne
