ECONOMIC DIARY JULY 3 - 7
THIS week investor’s attention will be the release of job data in the US, consumer confidence indices, retail numbers and inflation rates for various developed economies. The US and the UK will also publish their final GDP economic growth rates for Q1 2017. Domestically the Reserve Bank will release money supply and credit figures. StatsSA will publish the latest producer’s price inflation rate and South Africa’s balance of Trade data.
Domestically
Today: Absa will announce its latest manufacturing PMI. The National Association of Automobile Manufactures will release data for total new vehicle sales in June.
Wednesday, July 5: Standard Bank will release its PMI for June.
Friday, July 7: The Reserve Bank will publish the latest (June) level of foreign reserves.
Globally
Today: Japan: Large manufactures index – Q2; China: Manufacturing index and PMI – June; Germany, the UK an EU: Services PMI – June; EU and France: Retail sales – May; US: Manufacturing PMI – June; Total vehicle sales – June.
Tomorrow: UK: Construction PMI – June.
