Most Rus­sians back Putin

MOSCOW: A re­cent sur­vey shows that 81.4% of Rus­sians ap­proved of Pres­i­dent Vladimir Putin’s work, RIA Novosti news agency re­ported yes­ter­day.

Ac­cord­ing to the sur­vey con­ducted by the Rus­sian Pub­lic Opin­ion Re­search Cen­ter be­tween June 26 and July 2, Putin still came first in the trust rat­ing for politi­cians, with 49.2%.

Rus­sian De­fence Min­is­ter Sergei Shoigu came se­cond in the trust rat­ing, with 15.8%, while Prime Min­is­ter Dmitry Medvedev ranked third with 13.5%.

A to­tal of 84.6% of Rus­sians sur­veyed said they ap­proved of Putin’s work, ac­cord­ing to the sur­vey. Xin­hua
