Oosthuizen is the new Re­nault MD

LISTED trans­port and mo­bil­ity group Im­pe­rial Hold­ings has ap­pointed Jaco Oosthuizen as the new man­ag­ing di­rec­tor of Re­nault South Africa, ef­fec­tive from the be­gin­ning of this month. Im­pe­rial Hold­ings ob­tained a con­trol­ling in­ter­est in Re­nault South Africa in Au­gust 2013 when it ac­quired a fur­ther 11 per­cent share­hold­ing in the joint ven­ture with the French car man­u­fac­turer for R65 mil­lion to in­crease its share­hold­ing from 49 per­cent to 60 per­cent. Oosthuizen joined the Im­pe­rial Group in 2001 and was pre­vi­ously man­ag­ing di­rec­tor of both Dai­hatsu SA and Mit­subishi SA. Fol­low­ing a six-month term as man­ag­ing di­rec­tor des­ig­nate un­der cur­rent man­ag­ing di­rec­tor Nicholas de Canha, Oosthuizen will re­port to Os­man Ar­bee, the chief ex­ec­u­tive of Im­pe­rial’s Mo­tus Cor­po­ra­tion, which holds all of Im­pe­rial’s ve­hi­cle in­ter­ests. – Roy Cokayne
