Watch the search for youth TV presenter
FROM tomorrow, MTV Base viewers will get to watch the journey to find a new presenter for the channel.
The VJ Search screened over 8 000 auditions in four cities countrywide in the hope of finding someone who will represent the youth network.
Digital entries were also allowed this year, and throughout last month, auditions were held until five of the best entries from Joburg, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town were chosen.
The show airs tomorrow at 9pm on DStv channel 322 and promises to showcase the funniest and best auditions from Joburg and Durban.
Thereafter, the episodes will showcase the auditions from Port Elizabeth and Cape Town.
The judging panel for the show includes presenter Luthando “Lootlove” Shosha, actor and TV presenter Thomas Gumede and actress and TV presenter Nomalanga Shozi.
“We’ve spent many hours on the road and saw many talented young hopefuls, with so much potential and edge.
“Viewers and fans of the brand can expect laughs, tears and some really great entertainment as we bring them fresh new talent through the MTV Base
VJ Search show. It’s going to be a mustwatch reality TV at its best,” said Monde Twala, vice-president for BET, youth and music.
The winner, who will be given a 12-month contract with MTV, will be revealed on Sunday, August 27 and will join the likes of Sizwe Dhlomo, Nomuzi Mabena and Sandile Ntshingila, who also launched their careers after winning the search.
