Watch the search for youth TV pre­sen­ter

FROM to­mor­row, MTV Base view­ers will get to watch the jour­ney to find a new pre­sen­ter for the chan­nel.

The VJ Search screened over 8 000 au­di­tions in four cities coun­try­wide in the hope of finding some­one who will rep­re­sent the youth net­work.

Dig­i­tal en­tries were also al­lowed this year, and through­out last month, au­di­tions were held un­til five of the best en­tries from Joburg, Dur­ban, Port El­iz­a­beth and Cape Town were cho­sen.

The show airs to­mor­row at 9pm on DStv chan­nel 322 and prom­ises to show­case the fun­ni­est and best au­di­tions from Joburg and Dur­ban.

There­after, the episodes will show­case the au­di­tions from Port El­iz­a­beth and Cape Town.

The judg­ing panel for the show in­cludes pre­sen­ter Luthando “Loot­love” Shosha, ac­tor and TV pre­sen­ter Thomas Gumede and ac­tress and TV pre­sen­ter No­ma­langa Shozi.

“We’ve spent many hours on the road and saw many tal­ented young hope­fuls, with so much po­ten­tial and edge.

“View­ers and fans of the brand can ex­pect laughs, tears and some re­ally great en­ter­tain­ment as we bring them fresh new tal­ent through the MTV Base

VJ Search show. It’s go­ing to be a must­watch re­al­ity TV at its best,” said Monde Twala, vice-pres­i­dent for BET, youth and mu­sic.

The win­ner, who will be given a 12-month con­tract with MTV, will be re­vealed on Sun­day, Au­gust 27 and will join the likes of Sizwe Dhlomo, No­muzi Mabena and Sandile Nt­shingila, who also launched their ca­reers af­ter win­ning the search.
