3 killed in heavy rain
ADDIS ABABA: Landslide and above-average rainfall killed three people in Ethiopia’s countryside, the Ethiopian State News Agency reported yesterday.
They died in two incidents late on Sunday in two different districts of Ethiopia’s East Shoa zone, Oromia regional state. Two men were killed in a landslide in a sanddigging area and another woman died as her house collapsed in rain.
The tragedies occurred amid the Ethiopian Meteorology Agency’s latest warning over the prospect of above-average rainfall with a probable thunderstorm, threatening some cereal-producing areas in the country.
