Fo­cus on act­ing as a busi­ness

TV per­son­al­ity Zinzi Zungu, pic­tured, is bring­ing the Ac­tor Fac­tor con­fer­ence to Durban. The con­fer­ence starts to­mor­row and ends on Sun­day.

Zungu said the aim was to em­power the youth about TV and the busi­ness of act­ing.

The con­fer­ence is at the Olive Con­ven­tion Cen­tre and will see a host of tal­ent, in­clud­ing ac­tor and pro­ducer Akhumzi Jezile, ac­tress Zikhona Sod­laka, make-up artist to the stars Bongi Mlotshwa, singer and ac­tress Tumi Masemola, busi­ness and arts man­ager Lon­wabo Mavuso and ex-Miss SA Teen Celeste Khu­malo give ad­vice and men­tor ris­ing tal­ent.

Pan­el­lists will dis­cuss the act­ing in­dus­try as a busi­ness, share in­sights and in­spire those who as­pire to get their names and brands to the pub­lic.

Other pan­el­lists in­clude speaker Nobuntu Web­ster, cast­ing di­rec­tor Obey Muchip­isi and PR spe­cial­ist Bon­nie Mes­lane, who will speak about is­sues that ac­tors face be­hind the scenes.

Zungu, who is an ac­tress, TV pre­sen­ter and busi­ness­woman, is known pri­mar­ily for her roles in Isidingo, Scan­dal and Nomzamo.
