This is what former states­man Nel­son Man­dela wrote in one of his nu­mer­ous let­ters to his then-wife Win­nie Madik­izela-Man­dela while he was still in­car­cer­ated. For the many years that he was im­pris­oned, Man­dela not only lost a child and was un­able to bury him but also missed his chil­dren’s many mile­stones. As we cel­e­brate Man­dela month, we look at the Man­dela fam­ily tree to un­der­stand the life be­hind this man who was taken away from his fam­ily for many years. In­stead of preach­ing re­venge on his re­turn, he in­vited his per­se­cu­tors and asked them to join him in his jour­ney to rec­on­cile black and white peo­ple
