Pub­lic hear­ings into time­share

THE NA­TIONAL Con­sumer Com­mis­sion (NCC) was host­ing pub­lic hear­ings in Dur­ban yes­ter­day and to­day as part of its pub­lic in­quiry into the va­ca­tion own­er­ship “time­share” in­dus­try. The NCC urged all af­fected con­sumers in and around the city to par­tic­i­pate in the in­quiry, ei­ther by ap­pear­ing be­fore its panel to make oral sub­mis­sions or by mak­ing writ­ten tes­ti­monies. Writ­ten sub­mis­sions can be made via e-mail on a pre­scribed form ob­tain­able on re­quest from the panel at the e-mail ad­dress: time­sharein­ Ac­cord­ing to the NCC, KwaZulu-Na­tal had the sec­ond-high­est num­ber of con­sumer com­plaints against prop­erty time­share and re­lated busi­nesses.
