Public hearings into timeshare
THE NATIONAL Consumer Commission (NCC) was hosting public hearings in Durban yesterday and today as part of its public inquiry into the vacation ownership “timeshare” industry. The NCC urged all affected consumers in and around the city to participate in the inquiry, either by appearing before its panel to make oral submissions or by making written testimonies. Written submissions can be made via e-mail on a prescribed form obtainable on request from the panel at the e-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org. According to the NCC, KwaZulu-Natal had the second-highest number of consumer complaints against property timeshare and related businesses.
