N Korea de­nounces CIA di­rec­tor’s threat

PY­ONGYANG: North Korea yes­ter­day de­nounced a re­cent threat made by Mike Pom­peo, di­rec­tor of the CIA, to “re­move the supreme lead­er­ship” of the coun­try.

“It has now be­come clear that the ul­ti­mate aim of the Trump ad­min­is­tra­tion’s hos­tile pol­icy to­wards North Korea is the ‘regime change’,” the Korean Cen­tral News Agency quoted a spokesper­son of the North Korean For­eign Min­istry as say­ing.

The spokesper­son said Pom­peo “men­tioned im­per­ti­nently at a se­cu­rity fo­rum hosted by a civil­ian or­gan­i­sa­tion about ‘re­moval of the supreme lead­er­ship’ ” of North Korea.

“What is most dan­ger­ous about the North Korean nu­clear is­sue is the char­ac­ter who holds the con­trol over them,” Pom­peo said on Thurs­day. Xin­hua
