Young cheerleaders made a difference

The Star Early Edition - - POLITICS -

THE 13th annual Imfolozi mountain bike challenge, in conjunction with Old Mutual and Wildlands, one of only a few game rides where bikers cycle through a reserve with game in its natural habitat, offered the more than 350 athletes the spectacle of rhinos, elephants, cheetahs, giraffe, springbok and zebra. But the winners for the day were the children in Mambeni village, KZN, near the end of the 55km ride, who cheered riders on while singing Shosholoza; in return, bikers who had only 2km left of the race tossed them the remainders of their energy bars, much to the children’s delight.
