Nige­ria re­cov­ers bod­ies

ABUJA: The Nige­rian Army early yes­ter­day said 21 ad­di­tional bod­ies of an oil ex­plo­ration crew, am­bushed by Boko Haram mem­bers in the coun­try’s north-east, had been re­cov­ered.

The army also re­cov­ered ve­hi­cles and var­i­ous cal­i­bres of weapons in an op­er­a­tion to res­cue the am­bushed oil ex­plo­ration crew last Tues­day, said Sani Kukasheka Us­man, the army spokesman.

The bod­ies re­cov­ered in­cluded five sol­diers who gave se­cu­rity back-up to the crew, 11 civil­ian self­de­fence force and five mem­bers of the na­tional oil cor­po­ra­tion.
