In­tel­li­gence heads of Brics to get to­gether

THE sev­enth meet­ing of the Brics mem­ber states’ High Rep­re­sen­ta­tives on na­tional se­cu­rity started on Fri­day in the Chi­nese cap­i­tal.

“The Brics states are united in their es­ti­ma­tion of the key global prob­lems and ac­tively co-op­er­ate within the frame­work of the key in­ter­na­tional plat­forms, such as the United Na­tions, G20, the World Trade Or­gan­i­sa­tion, the In­ter­na­tional Mon­e­tary Fund and other mul­ti­lat­eral or­gan­i­sa­tions and fo­rums,” Rus­sian Se­cu­rity Coun­cil Sec­re­tary Niko­lai Pa­tru­shev, who heads the Rus­sian del­e­ga­tion, said dur­ing the event.

The Rus­sian of­fi­cial added that he con­sid­ered the Bei­jing meet­ing as a very im­por­tant op­por­tu­nity for de­tailed dis­cus­sions of se­cu­rity is­sues as it comes just ahead of the forth­com­ing Brics sum­mit in the re­sort city of Xi­a­men. – Sput­nik
