‘Got To Give It Up’ for copy­right in­fringe­ment

ROBIN Thicke and Phar­rell Wil­liams were or­dered to pay $7.3 mil­lion in copy­right in­fringe­ment in 2015, due to sim­i­lar­i­ties be­tween their num­ber one sin­gle Blurred Lines and Marvin Gaye’s Got To Give It Up.

Robin and Phar­rell de­nied any wrong­do­ing.The pay­out was re­duced on ap­peal, but the es­tate of the late Mo­town leg­end will re­ceive 50% of pub­lish­ing and song­writ­ing rev­enues from the 2013 song. – Bang Me­dia
