Police Minister Bheki Cele engaged the community and listened to their concerns about the high crime rate, while he was on a walkabout in the Mau-Mau settlement in Nyanga, near Cape Town, yesterday. He acknowledg­ed that Nyanga police station had only 90 police officers compared to the 220 that the station was supposed to have. He also acknowledg­ed that some police officers were corrupt and working with criminals, but “it is only a few of them”, he said.
