Agricultural futures

WHITE maize for delivery in December retreated 2.6 percent to R3 777 a ton on the SA Futures Exchange yesterday.

Prices reached the lowest for a most-active contract since December 9.

Yellow maize for December declined 1.3 percent to R3 076 a ton. Prices were down a fifth day to the lowest for a most-active contract since August 12.

Wheat for December lost 1.3 percent to R4 145 a ton.

Sunflower seeds for December advanced 1.7 percent to R6 285 a ton.

Soybeans for same month delivery dropped 0.8 percent to R6 170 a ton. – Bloomberg
