STOCKS of both white and yel­low maize would climb to 1.12 mil­lion tons, or enough for 41 days, by end of sea­son on April 30, Grain and Oilseeds Sup­ply and De­mand Es­ti­mates Com­mit­tee said in a re­port pub­lished on Na­tional Agri­cul­tural Mar­ket­ing Coun­cil’s web­site yes­ter­day.

That com­pares with a fore- cast of 1.1 mil­lion tons in Novem­ber.

White maize clos­ing stock level is pro­jected to be 506 586 tons, or suf­fi­cient for 43 days, and yel­low maize is seen at 609 345 tons, or 30 days’ sup­ply.

Fore­cast for im­ports of yel­low maize needed in the sea­son has been trimmed to 1.8 mil­lion tons. – Bloomberg
