Drive-by shooting jams traffic
TRAFFIC was brought to a standstill on William Nicol Drive in Sandton when a man was shot dead and two others were critically injured in a suspected drive-by shooting.
Sandton police confirmed that a murder investigation had been opened after four men driving a double cab were shot around 3pm yesterday.
Sandton police spokes- person Captain Granville Meyer said the car was approaching an intersection when an unknown man allegedly started shooting at the vehicle with an AK-47.
The shooter jumped onto a motorcycle and rode away.
The double cab was then driven to a Total garage, where one of the victims died, while two others were taken to hos- pital.
The shooting caused a heavy back-up of traffic in Parkmore.
The injured men were reported to be in a stable condition, and the motive for the shooting was unknown.
