Who’s who at Boity Thulo’s launch

The Sunday Independent - - FRONT PAGE - CON STANCE GA AN A KG OMO

THERE is never an easy solution to weight loss, especially in the days where quick-fixes mushroom from all over the place, and we are always warned about falling prey to illegal products that flooding the market.

However, on the positive side, on Wednesday night we witnessed the launch of TV personality Boity Thulo’s body toning supplement pills. Boity is in partnership with Rasheed Patel and Legend Mangqele, and she says the business venture has been in the making for four years.

The Munro Boutique Hotel was abuzz with the who’s who of the entertainment industry. We sat pool side, sipping on bubbles as we were serenaded by a band’s covers of John Legend songs, among others.

Azania Mosaka arrived, looking very stylishly dressed in a black ball gown, and she took the helm of hostess with aplomb. Media mogul Khanyi Dhlomo was the guest speaker on the night. She has been Boity’s mentor since 2015 and spoke about the importance of finding oneself and discovering one’s potential. Her speech left guests feeling inspired.

Boity’s speech resulted in her mother, Modiehi Thulo, getting emotional; it must be amazing to witness your child break boundaries, especially in an industry that’s predominantly foreign to black-owned companies.

Thulo wore a white gown and walked about greeting and talking to the guests, something that added an intimate touch to the launch.

It seemed like a family affair, because both Patel and Mangqele’s families were there to celebrate with them.
