AUTHORITIES in Genoa, Italy, have confiscated 21 suspect artworks supposedly by Amedeo Modigliani after finding that several paintings showcased in a major exhibition at the Doge’s Palace were probably fakes.

The foundation sponsoring the show shut down the exhibition three days early to collaborate with the latest investigation enveloping the Italian expressionist painter and sculptor, one of the world’s most famously faked artists. —
