King em­bar­rassed by ‘dirty work’

Le­sotho’s King Let­sie III said the killing of the coun­try’s army com­man­der last week had caused “em­bar­rass­ment” and “scared” the small moun­tain king­dom.

Khoan­tle Mot­so­motso was gunned down by ri­val of­fi­cers in an on­go­ing strug­gle be­tween mil­i­tary and politi­cians. Ad­dress­ing mourn­ers, widely re­spected Let­sie urged lead­ers not to use the army for “dirty” work.
