Train­ers for taxi driv­ers

The KZN Taxi and Com­muter Cor­po­ra­tion (KZNTCC) is busy qual­i­fy­ing 32 fa­cil­i­ta­tors to train taxi driv­ers in KZN.

KZNTCC chair Boy Zondi said the train­ers are gen­er­ally ex-teach­ers or ex-prin­ci­pals who are well qual­i­fied to do this train­ing.

“They also all have some con­nec­tion to the taxi in­dus­try as op­er­a­tors or mem­bers of as­so­ci­a­tion ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tees,” said Zondi.

“The taxi in­dus­try in KZN be­lieves that it has the ca­pac­ity to con­duct its own train­ing and we are go­ing to be do­ing this through the KZNTCC,” he said. The train­ing is funded us­ing R385 000 that was awarded to the KZNTCC to qual­ify 100 learn­ers with 22 cred­its at the Trans­port Ed­u­ca­tion and Train­ing Au­thor­ity (Teta).
