DUCATTI showed its 2016 Monster 1200 R at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The R boasts superbike performance levels to claim the title of the most powerful naked Ducati. Based on the 1200 S sibling, the 1200 R is powered by the R-version of the Testastretta 11 engine, making 120 kW @ 9 250 rpm and 13,4 kgm @ 7 750 rpm. The exhaust system is completely new with larger 58 mm exhaust pipes and a new Euro 4 complaint silencer. The valves have to be adjusted every 30 000 km and the oil changed every 15 000 km or 12 months, increasing service intervals and cutting running costs.
