Auto combo for Fo­cus

FORD has added more au­to­matic one- litre driv­e­trains mod­els to the Fo­cus.

Called the PowerShift and Eco­Boost in Ford mar­ket­ing terms, the combo is now avail­able in both Am­bi­ente and Trend spec­i­fi­ca­tion lev­els for both the Fo­cus five- door hatch and four­door sedan.

Tracey De­late, gen­eral mar­ket­ing man­ager, Ford Mo­tor Com­pany Sub- Sa­ha­ran Africa Re­gion, said in a state­ment this brings to 14 the to­tal num­ber of Fo­cus mod­els avail­able in South Africa to 14, in­clud­ing the two siz­zling hot Fo­cus ST range- top­pers.

The award- win­ning 1.0 Eco­Boost de­liv­ers 92kW of power and 170Nm of torque. Matched to the PowerShift au­to­matic trans­mis­sion it is cred­ited with a Ford’s tests get­ting a com­bined cy­cle fuel con­sump­tion of 5,5 l/ 100 km and a CO2 emis­sions rat­ing of 125 g/ km.

Pric­ing for the three au­to­mat­ics start at R241 900 and go up to to R267 900, but the sales staff in Ford in Mar­itzburg looks set to sweeten the deal with sweet trade ins too, — WR.


The Fo­cus range now has three new mod­els us­ing the pop­u­lar 1- litre auto drivetrain.
