Husq­varna lines up promis­ing rid­ers for MX2

HUSQ­VARNA Mo­tor­cy­cles re­leased the of­fi­cial im­agery of the Rock­star En­ergy Husq­varna Fac­tory Rac­ing Team set to com­pete in the MX2 class of the 2016 FIM Mo­tocross World Cham­pi­onship.

For 2016 the team fields a strong line- up, with Great Bri­tain’s Max An­stie and Amer­i­can Thomas Cov­ing­ton hav­ing their sights set on reach­ing the top step of the podium. Strength­en­ing the team’s ros­ter Con­rad Mewse ( Great Bri­tain) will par­tic­i­pate in the EMX 250 class of the Mo­tocross Euro­pean Cham­pi­onship while Yentel Martens ( Bel­gium) will com­pete in the EMX 300 class and the ma­jor beach races. Both rid­ers have the sta­tus of sup­ported rid­ers. The team is man­aged by for­mer FIM 500cc Mo­tocross World Cham­pion Jacky Martens.

Aboard Husq­varna’s new FC 250 mo­tor­cy­cle the Rock­star En- ergy Husq­varna Fac­tory Rac­ing Team in MX2 will make its World Cham­pi­onship de­but in Qatar on Fe­bru­ary 26- 27. Con­rad Mewse will join the team at the open­ing round of the Mo­tocross Euro­pean Cham­pi­onship in Valkenswaard, Nether­lands on March 27- 28.

Jacky Martens, Rock­star En­ergy Husq­varna Fac­tory Rac­ing MX2 team man­ager, said: “We’re ex­cited to have three ex­cep­tion­ally promis­ing rid­ers for 2016.

“Max An­stie proved he’s one of the fastest rid­ers in the clos­ing rounds of last sea­son.

“We be­lieve he can fight for the MX2 world cham­pi­onship.

“We’re also glad to have Thomas Cov­ing­ton on board. With both Max and Thomas, as well as with Con­rad Mewse in the EMX se­ries, we have a very strong line- up and we can’t wait for the cham­pi­onships to be­gin.” — Wheels Reporter.
