AMA­ZON has ex­tended its vir­tual store-front for sell­ing ve­hi­cle parts and ac­ces­sories with Ama­zon Ve­hi­cles. In a state­ment, the dig­i­tal shop said the plat­form is only a car re­search des­ti­na­tion and plat­form for the au­to­mo­tive com­mu­nity, for now.

“Our goal is to sup­port cus­tomers dur­ing one of the most im­por­tant, re­search-in­ten­sive pur­chases in their lives by help­ing them make in­formed de­ci­sions ev­ery step of the way,” di­rec­tor of au­to­mo­tive at Ama­zon, Adam Goetsch, said in the state­ment.

“Ama­zon Ve­hi­cles is a great re­source for cus­tomers who are in­ter­ested in car in­for­ma­tion or look­ing for a broad se­lec­tion of parts and ac­ces­sories — all en­hanced by the abil­ity to tap into the knowl­edge, opin­ions, and ex­pe­ri­ences of other car own­ers within the Ama­zon cus­tomer com­mu­nity.”

Ama­zon Ve­hi­cles makes it pos­si­ble to search for spe­cific ve­hi­cles, or to browse and fil­ter re­sults by things like year, make, model, cus­tomer rat­ing, fuel ef­fi­ciency and tow­ing ca­pac­ity. Prod­uct listings in­clude spec­i­fi­ca­tions, images and videos of ve­hi­cles. As with Ama­zon prod­uct listings, it’s pos­si­ble to view cus­tomer re­views, which can in­clude re­viewer-up­loaded images and videos, and for users to sub­mit their own re­views, images and videos.

Users can also ask ques­tions about ve­hi­cles for other com­mu­nity mem­bers to an­swer, or pro­vide an­swers to ques­tions that other peo­ple have asked.
