NIS­SAN GETS NEW MAR­KET­ING DI­REC­TOR

ROSSLYN — Nis­san South Africa has ap­pointed Ka­belo Rabotho to the po­si­tion of mar­ket­ing di­rec­tor, ef­fec­tive from De­cem­ber 1.

Rabotho brings with him more than 20 years’ ex­pe­ri­ence in the au­to­mo­tive industry, and is set to drive Nis­san’s mar­ket­ing divi­sion to new heights.

Rabotho joins Nis­san South Africa from BMW South Africa, where he held the role of gen­eral man­ager sales and brand man­age­ment for MINI.

He is ex­cited to take up the chal­lenge of head­ing up Nis­san South Africa’s mar­ket­ing divi­sion.

“I be­lieve I come equipped with the know-how to take an al­ready for­mi­da­ble au­to­mo­tive brand from strength to strength,” he said.

Rabotho be­gan his ca­reer in the au­to­mo­tive world in 1994 at Toy­ota South Africa. Be­gin­ning as a prod­uct and mar­ket re­searcher, he went on to hold se­nior mar­ket­ing roles at the com­pany. Dur­ing this time, he also re­ceived a BCom de­gree from the Univer­sity of the Wit­wa­ter­srand. Af­ter a 10-year stint at Toy­ota, Rabotho gained fleet ex­pe­ri­ence work­ing at Absa Ve­hi­cle Man­age­ment So­lu­tions and SMMT, be­fore spend­ing time as the dealer prin­ci­pal and gen­eral man­ager for Im­pe­rial Toy­ota in Park­town.
