NEW RANGER FOR RHINOS
BARLOWORLD Ford Pietermaritzburg on Tuesday handed a new 2,2 Ford Ranger 4x4 to support the WWF’s Black Rhino Range Expansion Project (BRREP).
Dealer principal Darryl Topper said Ford was proud to be associated with the project and grateful to all the people who did such a professional job in increasing black rhino populations.
Head of the project, wildlife veterinarian Dr Jacques Flamand, received the vehicle, saying Ford has supported the programme for the 15 years to help establish 10 new population groups. He said this was his fifth sponsored Ford, adding every new iteration of the Ranger had been better and especially the Ranger’s 4x4 ability was crucial to his work in KZN, Limpopo and the Kruger Park. — WR.
