KWAZULU-Na­tal’s top spin­ners and drifters packed out the pit area at the old bus de­pot at Ma­son’s Mill on Satur­day to com­pete for a place on Team KZN.

The fans who set up their braais and gaze­bos on the bank for a full day of spec­tac­u­lar driv­ing came from all over the prov­ince, as well as the East­ern Cape and Gaut­eng.

Co-or­gan­iser of the well-run event, Reece Wil­liamson, told

Wheels 15 driv­ers will be se­lected, as the Driftkhana and Spinkhana events are self-spon­sored com­pe­ti­tions, with not all driv­ers al­ways able to leave their busi­nesses to com­pete else­where.

They have al­ready started to make ar­range­ments for the next event, with the aim to host a team from Gaut­eng.


Spec­ta­tors set up camp on the bank at Ma­son’s Mill on Satur­day to watch the first ever se­lec­tion of a team of driv­ers who can in­for­mally rep­re­sent KwaZulu-Na­tal at Driftkhana and Spinkhana events against pro­vin­cial teams from other prov­inces.
