E-PACE: ‘IMPROVED ROLL CONTROL IN ALL CONDITIONS’
THE new Jaguar E-Pace last week landed in the Guinness World Records after a 15,3-metre long jump complete with a 270-degree ‘barrel roll’ (shown here in a time lapse photo) with stunt driver Terry Grant at the wheel. The E-Pace is the newest member of Jaguar’s SUV family and joins the 2017 World Car of the Year, the Jaguar F-PACE, which was itself launched with a spectacular world record loop-the-loop in 2015. The ramps were modelled using CAD design and the most difficult part to get right was the 160 km/h exit speed. Jaguar’s adaptive suspension system took care of the landing, loading the suspension and adjusting the damping “for improved roll control and agility in all conditions” as Jaguar states in its E-Pace brochures.
