A great day of road running in Edendale
ATHLETES enjoyed a great day of road running as the Edendale community and the nation’s top short distance and recreational runners converged on the FNB Wadley Stadium in Edendale for the 11th edition of the everpopular Greater Edendale 10 km race on Sunday.
The race is a corporate social investment initiative of the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA), which hosts the annual event in conjunction with the Msunduzi Municipality and the MsunduziPietermaritzburg Tourism Association. The muchloved annual event saw an amazing turnout by the community, in terms of participation and support, with over a thousand par ticipants. Prize money to the tune of R21 000 was presented to the winners in various categories; as well as addi tional lucky draw prizes. Sipho Mbanjwa took the first prize of R3 000 for the first man and Jenet Mbhele claimed the same amount for first woman position.
