Fuelled-up CMA clear up cut-off times confusion
A NEW fuel sponsor has been securedby the Comrades Marathon Association(CMA), but participantsneed not seach for a miracle propellantfor their own bodies on Sunday,June 10, because the cut-off timesare not much different from the previousDown Run.
The CMA were yesterday happy toannounce Caltex as a “fuel providerpartner to TheUltimate HumanRace” intheir basket ofsponsorsfor the marathonfromPieter-maritzburg toDurban in twomonths’ time.
CMA generalmanager ChrisFisher said:“The CMA haspartnered withinternationalbrands overthe years and we are proud to welcomeCaltex as a partner to theComrades Marathon for the nextthree years.
“Not only will Caltex be our fuelprovider; they will also exercise forecourtbranding promotions at Caltexforecourts along the route. In addition,they will assume naming rightsto the Comrades Marathon CartoonRoute Maps so runners can expectsome innovative marketing plansaround these.”
