WITH the enor­mous es­ca­la­tion in crime in South Africa, I think it’s time the gun laws were changed.

At the mo­ment, we may only use a gun to re­turn fire. If the law was changed to al­low a per­son to fire warn­ing shots if there are in­trud­ers in, or on one’s prop­erty, and then be al­lowed to fire at them if the warn­ing shots are ig­nored, the crime rate would drop sig­nif­i­cantly.

The cur­rent gun laws are pro­tect­ing the crim­i­nals.
