Shoes are part and parcel of our lives world over. That has been the trend since time immemorial. Shoes play a very important part in our lives. They protect us from danger like sharp objects that could harm our feet. Humanity use shoes to make a fashion statement. Wearing a highprofile and expensive shoe elevates one’s prestige and honour among one’s peers. In turn, this boost one’s self-confidence.

While shoes play positive roles in our lives, however, shoes can, and actually do cause discomfort, illnesses, and damage to various parts of the body when one uses ‘bad’ shoes. Women world over happen to be the most affected of the population by the dangers of making use of ‘bad’ shoes. The use of ‘bad’ shoes has a negative effect for business as the affected women tend to reduce their participation in business either in the form of employment and/or generating income for themselves. Any kind of illness is bad for business because sickness takes the time and energy of an economically active person away from work to focus on dealing with the sickness.

To this extent, any sickness that can be prevented needs to be prevented. Making use of ‘bad’ shoes can and should be prevented.

Women are most affected of the population by the dangers of ‘bad’ shoes mainly because women wear high heeled shoes. Experts and the general public are unanimous in agreeing that high-heels are bad for a woman’s health for various reasons that have been fully discussed hereinbelow. It is therefore advisable that women must choose to buy ‘good’ shoes to get comfort, safety, health and other benefits. Such a shift in the mindsets for women is good for business because women will continue making a positive contribution to the economy with less or no interruptions caused that arose from having to attend to medical problems caused by making use of ‘bad’ shoes.

It must be emphasized though that ‘bad’ shoes are not limited to high-heels as has been clarified in the paragraphs to come. In order to set a great foundation to enable women to understand the benefits that come from wearing ‘good’ shoes, it is necessary to define in much detail the dangers that result from making use of ‘bad’ shoes.
