CASUALTIES OF THE MUSIC INDUSTRY’S SPOTLIGHT

True Love - - Relationships -

Sometimes issues that the industry brings – lack of personal space, jealousy and creative differences – end a relationship, even if both stars remain successful. Stoan Seete and Thandiswa Mazwai of Bongo Maffin fame had a short-lived fling resulting in a daughter, who’s now 17. “When the media got hold of the fact that Thandiswa was pregnant with my child, they just came down on us like a ton of bricks. It was just too much,” he says.

Singers Brian Themba and Lungi Naidoo’s relationship didn’t end well even after they collaborated on their Limitless single. “We’ve happily conquered that bridge” she says. Lauryn Hill’s tumultuous relationships with former Fugees bandmate Wyclef Jean, and father of her five children Rohan Marley, have played out publicly, with Jean writing a tell-all book revealing the group split as a result of his jealousy over her relationship with Marley.
