TERIYAKI BEEF CLUB STEAK WITH CRUNCHY ASIAN SLAW

Serves: 2-3

Prep Time: 2 hrs 20 min­utes 700 g club steak

1 plus 1/4 cups wa­ter 6T packed brown sugar

1/4 cup soy sauce 2T honey

2 gar­lic cloves, crushed 1 tsp gin­ger, crushed 3T oil

3T white vine­gar 2T corn­starch

Method:

1. In a saucepan, add a cup wa­ter, brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, gar­lic, gin­ger, oil and white vine­gar bring to boil, stir­ring all the time. Bring to sim­mer at medium heat.

2. Com­bine corn­starch with 1/4 cup wa­ter and stir. Add to the saucepan, whisk­ing all the time un­til sauce thick­ens. Add more wa­ter if too thick. Re­move and leave to cool com­pletely. 3. Place the steak in a dish and rub the mar­i­nate over the meat. Leave to mar­i­nate for about 2 hours, place on medium coal heat and braai for about 10 min­utes on each side. Serve with more sauce and Asian slaw.
