TERIYAKI BEEF CLUB STEAK WITH CRUNCHY ASIAN SLAW
Prep Time: 2 hrs 20 minutes 700 g club steak
1 plus 1/4 cups water 6T packed brown sugar
1/4 cup soy sauce 2T honey
2 garlic cloves, crushed 1 tsp ginger, crushed 3T oil
3T white vinegar 2T cornstarch
1. In a saucepan, add a cup water, brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, oil and white vinegar bring to boil, stirring all the time. Bring to simmer at medium heat.
2. Combine cornstarch with 1/4 cup water and stir. Add to the saucepan, whisking all the time until sauce thickens. Add more water if too thick. Remove and leave to cool completely. 3. Place the steak in a dish and rub the marinate over the meat. Leave to marinate for about 2 hours, place on medium coal heat and braai for about 10 minutes on each side. Serve with more sauce and Asian slaw.
