Strictly Come Dancing

TV Plus (South Africa) - - 9 AUGUST -

Bubbly, blonde and beautiful, Roxy Burger has been on TV for over 15 years, first as a KTV presenter (1999-2007) and later hosting season 2 of SABC3 entertainment series Flash (2011). Last year she was an MTV presenter and now she’s back on the tube, co-hosting the new season of Strictly Come Dancing (SCD)…

What’s it like co-presenting SCD with Katlego Maboe? This is the first time that we’re working together, but we have such great energy that it’s just so much fun. What’s the toughest thing about hosting the show? The pressure of it being a live show. But then again, I do love live TV. There’s nothing quite like that adrenaline rush! How is your presenting style on SCD different from previous hosts? I have a lot of fun with the presenting. I have a love for dancing – I danced for 13 years and I know that this translates into my hosting style. Would you have liked to compete? Definitely! I’ve always wanted to compete and have actually mentioned this to the production company. And that’s why the executive producers knew that I would be interested in being part of the show. I’m really glad to be the host though! Your ideal dance partner would be… Ryan Hammond. I worked in production on SCD when I started my production career as an intern and got to know him then. He’s a sweetheart and only wants the best for his dance partners. And how’s married life? Are any family plans on the cards? Not much has changed as we [Roxy and her hubby Neil Shraga] lived together before we got married in April this year. We definitely want to have a family but not too soon – we’re focusing on our careers at the moment and we love to travel. So a little more of that will be on the cards for us before we decide to have kids.

Dancer roxy is right on the mark with her presenting skills on SCD.
