Randy to the rescue

TV Plus (South Africa) - - 7 DECEMBER -

“the other” Kardashian sisters head to New York’s posh Hamptons playground of the rich and famous as they open a new DASH store in Long Island.

Kourtney and Scott are fighting, while Khloé climbs off one jet and onto another as she heads to South Africa.

A woman is getting married in a few weeks but she’s missing one thing: her dress. And Randy must then help another bride to control her eccentric tastes. what makes mela different from eastern mosaic? eastern mosaic will always be an iconic show for what it represented and i’ll treasure the opportunity to present on it. mela’s an entertainment-driven show and so much more. it’s a platform for rising stars, unsung heroes and all who aspire to a better life. what’s your favourite part of the show? interacting with people. nothing beats new experiences and engaging with people from all walks of life. have you always been entertainment minded, since you have a degree in film & television? always! it gives you the ability to express yourself, whether it be through singing, performance or presenting. unfortunately i can’t hold a tune, so i’ll stick to singing in the shower. as a shy kid, it was my way to express myself; the medium’s so powerful. what was your first step into tv? i didn’t wait by the phone for my break. i created my own talkshow, the mishal mookrey show in 2010. it aired nationally on community stations as well as online – thank goodness for youtube. self-produced, selfdirected… i wore many hats and loved it. how did your family react when you told them that you wanted to be in showbiz? not well. my mom wanted me to be an accountant, something stable that would earn a decent income. parents want what’s best for their kids and it was daunting because it was an industry they knew nothing of. so what else are you involved in besides mela? i’m an mc, a motivational speaker and i’m in the final year of my mba. you’re also an entrepreneur – where do you get all the time? i credit my folks with my entrepreneurial spirit. i must confess that my most current project is my thesis, but there are definitely other projects in the pipeline. keep your eyes peeled…

mishal mookrey’s adding spice to your tv viewing variety.
